The Boondocks Cabins

Boondocks cabins begin with a simple idea: living closer to nature should not mean giving up comfort, privacy, functionality or connectivity.

The interior

One space.
Many ways to live.

Each cabin is compact, adaptable and shaped by its surroundings. Landscape and climate guide its orientation, light, ventilation and materials, while the interior supports rest, remote work and creative life.

Architecture becomes the link between people, nature and living heritage. Local materials, craft and knowledge are integrated into a contemporary habitat that respects the character of each location.

Created for

Digital nomads

A quiet base for remote work, focused thinking and a daily rhythm closer to nature.

Nature seekers

For hikers, slow travellers and explorers who value landscape, local culture and meaningful experiences.

Creative minds

For artists, architects, designers, writers and makers looking for space to observe, think and create.

Our vision

From a cabin to
a larger system.

The cabin is the most direct experience of Boondocks. Beyond it lies a wider relationship between landscape, architecture, local life, community and purposeful technology.

Level 5: Into space

Our furthest ambition is a BOONDOCKS SPACE beyond Earth: on the Moon, on Mars and wherever exploration takes us.

Places to rest, find shelter and feel connected, even far from home. We imagine habitats that make careful use of space and resources, supporting everyday life in environments unlike anything on Earth.

The Moon and Mars are distant possibilities. The journey towards them begins here, on Earth.

Level 4: Remote Landscapes

Our next objective is to create BOONDOCKS SPACES in some of the most remote places on Earth.

Shelters high in the mountains or deep in the wilderness, where safety, rest and human connection can exist even far from the familiar world. Places that may protect someone when needed, but also allow people to stay, explore, work and experience the silence of landscapes that remain difficult to reach.

From the remote edge, our journey continues closer to home.

Level 3: Mountain Communities

At this level, BOONDOCKS moves closer to the mountain communities that have shaped - and been shaped by - these landscapes for generations.

Across forests, high meadows and remote hamlets, local knowledge lives through architecture, food, craft, seasonal work and the careful use of the land. We imagine BOONDOCKS SPACES developed in dialogue with these living traditions and becoming more than shelters and become places to stay, meet, share local food and traditions, and create new opportunities without losing what makes these communities unique.

From the highlands, our journey continues towards the places we call home.

Level 2: Living Landscapes

This level objective brings BOONDOCKS SPACES within the living landscapes of rural communities.

In remote villages and regions shaped by small farms, local makers and generations of knowledge, these spaces can become places to stay, work, gather and share. Visitors discover the landscape through the people who live there, while local communities gain new ways to present their products, traditions and experiences.

As more paths and people begin to meet, our journey continues closer to where it can all begin.

Level 1: Common Ground

At this level BOONDOCKS SPACES are placed within the areas where community life already exists.

At the foothills of the mountains, gardens, old houses and familiar gathering places carry the memories of generations. Connected to villages and local life, these spaces can host stays, shared meals, workshops, markets, cultural events and everyday encounters. Existing heritage buildings may find new purpose, while local people can share a wider range of products, skills and experiences.

Here, we return to where every journey begins: a place and its people.

Created for real life

A place for every reason to return.

Boondocks is created for digital nomads, mountain lovers, explorers, creators, families and communities—but also for anyone who simply needs to step away and reconnect.

Some come to work with a different view. Others come to walk further, breathe deeper, meet local people or find a quieter rhythm. Whatever brings you here, there is a place for you.

Rooted in Romania

BOONDOCKS SPACE is a Romanian company based in Cugir, Alba County. We draw inspiration from mountain landscapes, local traditions, architecture, craft, traditional agriculture and the knowledge carried from one generation to another.

Early ideas around fractional real estate sparked our interest in how a single place can bring together a wider community. Blockchain, digital platforms and AI expanded that perspective, opening new ways to imagine connection, participation and the relationship between digital systems and the physical world. Exploring how technology, energy and architecture can support one another is part of this wider vision.

Our ambition is to bring these influences together with care: architecture rooted in its landscape, culture and heritage carried forward, traditional agriculture and local making given new relevance, and technology used with purpose.

BOONDOCKS is a long-term exploration of how progress and roots can belong to the same place.

Our responsibility

Move forward without losing where we come from.

Architecture, food, craftsmanship, music, traditions and local knowledge give human life its diversity. Forests, cultivated landscapes and the knowledge of living with nature remind us that belonging is both generous and fragile.

Boondocks seeks to protect what can still be preserved, give new life to what deserves to continue and strengthen the living connections between people, culture and nature.

Under development

Places, people
and experiences - connected.

The BOONDOCKS App is being developed as a digital companion to the places and communities at the heart of the project.

It is envisioned as a simple way to discover destinations, understand the stories and people behind them, explore local activities, find practical information and, when available, book a stay.

The platform is intended to grow gradually alongside the physical BOONDOCKS SPACES and local collaborations, connecting digital discovery with real experiences.

NFT Collection

Collect a piece
of the journey

Boondocks NFTs are digital collectibles developed by Boondocks Space S.R.L., connecting art, landscape, architecture and the identity of the Boondocks community.

The collection is planned for launch on Robinhood Chain in October 2026, with availability through OpenSea. Purchasers receive the specific NFT and the rights expressly described in its accompanying licence, which will be available for review before purchase.

Our development plan includes integrating the collection into the future Boondocks App, supporting a deeper layer of participation through digital identity and selected holder features as they become available.
